About our site
Open Eye Consulting practice what we preach, all the software used to design, deploy and host this site is open source with one small exception

In fact the site design and techniques are avalible for anyone to reuse in any way they want.
In our source code you will find a notice saying the same thing, with the only condition being the site name is changed.
This site is a Plone content managment system avalible from www.plone.org and is used by companies and goverments all around the world.
Plone is written using Python and various other localised languages and "sits" on top of the zope web server and is well suported, in fact we owe the Plone community a big thank you for creating the most advanced CMS open source (in fact it beats closed source software as well) and we contribute to its devolpment as much as possible.
The site is hosted on a Linux server using Ubuntu Server Edition flavour and the graphics where edited on a Linux desktop computer which was run by Ubuntu again (we like Ubuntu) using the excellent Gimp editor.
The CSS style sheets where edited live using the Firefox web browser along with the web devolper toolbar .
Python editing was completed using SPE IDE
The one exception to this is a Windows XP SP2 virtual desktop mounted on one of our Linux desktops using the Citrix Xen Virtualization application.
We do this because we need to make sure that all out designs and systems are cross browser compatible and because we also port Open Source progams to Windows for clients time to time.
Feel free to copy, distrubute, alter or reuse any graphics, infomation, techniques and styles used to design this site, the Logo however is ours and should not be re-used as a logo if it is for a Open source consultancy site, we wont sue you or stop you but it would be nice.
